About Us
Our
Story
We have a small holding consisting of 6 acres where we have bred a herd of 20 alpacas. We also have 15 free range chickens which supply the Bed & Breakfast with fresh eggs and 7 free range ducks who roam the garden. You would be more than welcome to feed the alpacas who love carrots and enjoy the company (wellies recommended in the wet weather because of the mud).
I also produce alpaca hats and scarfs from our own alpacas. They are environmentally friendly as the only miles involved are the miles taking the item to the customer. You can see the process from fibre, carding, spinning and weaving or knitting through to the finished product. These are made to order only.
The B&B
Your Room
Your room offers a king sized bed with an en suite show room. Free wifi, tea and coffee, mini fridge, hair dryer, towels and complimentary shampoo and soap. In your room there is a Juliet balcony with a double door opening out to stunning views over 62 acres of apple orchard and our fields.
There is ample parking and safe storage if you come by bike.
Included in your room price is a full breakfast menu. Breakfast is served in our conservatory where you can admire the views, there is also the option of alfresco breakfast on the decking on those lovely warm mornings. We can also provide you with a continental breakfast picnic that you can take and eat out with the alpacas whilst enjoying the view. Please note this is pre order online & weather permitting.
Walks
There are many walks you can take from The Acorns of which there is a byway that runs through the property which we have direct access to and incorporates a footpath that takes you around the orchard which is around 30 minutes, or for a longer walk past the Merry Harriers pub in Cowbeech and up the road back to the Acorns (approx 1hr).
The night sky is stunning here, there is a great view of the stars due to minimal light pollution and you can go into our fields to view the constellation.
